CareNote Updates – April 2026

A diverse care ministry team gathered around a standing table, discussing dashboards, charts, and reports displayed on a large wall-mounted screen in a bright, sunlit office.
April's updates bring your care team closer to the data — and to each other.

This month's CareNote updates include enhanced Planning Center integration features, improved task management with rich-text descriptions, and streamlined team administration tools. As always, we're committed to helping your care ministry teams respond more effectively and work more efficiently.

Core Platform Improvements

Rich-Text Task Descriptions

Task descriptions now support rich formatting and display properly across all areas of CareNote. Whether you're viewing tasks on the dashboard or in completion reports, formatted descriptions maintain their clarity and readability.

Enhanced Dashboard Performance

We've improved how the dashboard loads and displays your team's assignment data. Contact information and meaningful interaction dates now load more reliably, giving you a clearer picture of your care ministry activity.

Streamlined Group Management

Group attachments and document handling work more smoothly when uploading files directly from a Group's documents tab. This makes it easier to keep important group resources organized and accessible.

Planning Center Integration

This month brought substantial improvements to our Planning Center integration:

  • Enhanced form field mapping with automatic syncing of dropdown options from Planning Center forms
  • Multiple form integration support to connect various Planning Center forms with your CareNote workflows
  • Account switching capability that allows teams to disconnect and reconnect different Planning Center accounts
  • Improved webhook handling for contact information and household updates
  • Better token management that distinguishes between expired and revoked access permissions

These updates mean your Planning Center data stays more current and your automation workflows run more reliably.

New Features

Follow-Ups Widget Enhancement

The Care Action Center's follow-ups widget now includes search functionality, filtering options, and person sorting capabilities. This makes it much easier to find and prioritize the people who need your attention most.

Incremental Data Sync

Teams can now perform targeted data imports from Planning Center without running a full sync. This is especially helpful for large churches that need to update specific groups of people without affecting their entire database.

CSV Profile Reconciliation

A new reconciliation tool helps you keep your member database current by comparing it against CSV master lists. The system can reactivate inactive profiles, create missing ones, and clean up duplicates—perfect for annual membership reviews.

Enhanced Administration & Security

User Management Tools

Administrative users can now reset team members to temporary passwords and better track user access across teams. This makes it easier to maintain security while helping team members who need account assistance.

Improved Security

We've enhanced how CareNote handles rich-text content in email templates and task descriptions, ensuring that formatted text displays properly while maintaining security standards.

Behind-the-Scenes Improvements

We've made numerous refinements to ensure CareNote runs smoothly:

  • Better handling of group acceptance links to prevent duplicate care request panels
  • Improved task assignment notifications for volunteers with proper email tokens
  • Enhanced workflow management when detaching workflows from profiles
  • More reliable data imports with better error handling and retry logic
  • Streamlined dependency updates to keep the platform secure and performant
