CareNote Updates – February 2026

CareNote Updates – February 2026

February brought the promise of spring renewal, and we've been busy preparing fresh ways to help your ministry flourish. This month, we shipped 48 improvements to CareNote—each one inspired by real conversations with pastors, chaplains, mission leaders, care coordinators, and care teams who are doing the beautiful, messy work of loving and care for people well.

From AI-powered workflow creation to smarter care routing, these updates are designed around a simple truth: when technology serves your heart for ministry, both your team and your congregation benefit. Let's dive into what's new.

Intelligent Ministry Workflows

One of our most exciting additions this month is the AI Workflow Generator. Now you can describe your care process in plain English—like "When someone requests prayer for illness, create a follow-up task for our care pastor in two weeks"—and CareNote will build the entire workflow for you. No technical expertise required.

We've also enhanced our Planning Center integration with PCO Tabs, Lists, and Workflows, giving you seamless automation between your church management system and care processes. Plus, form submissions from Planning Center can now automatically trigger workflows, turning online care requests into structured ministry responses without any manual intervention.

These tools mean less time wrestling with setup and more time focusing on the people entrusted to your care.

Smarter Care Coordination

Caring for families—not just individuals—is at the heart of pastoral ministry, which is why we've added household-level care request support. Now when the Johnson family faces a crisis, you can coordinate care for the whole household while still tracking individual needs and interactions.

We've also streamlined how care teams stay on top of follow-ups with an Interaction Follow-ups widget that includes gentle nudge reminders. The new Care Delivered Insights page gives you a bird's-eye view of your team's ministry impact, helping you celebrate wins and spot areas that need attention.

For teams managing multiple care requests, the new bulk interaction creation feature lets you quickly log touches with multiple people at once—perfect after hospital visits or community events.

Enhanced Communication Tools

This month brought significant improvements to how you connect with your congregation. We've refined Planning Center list imports with better rate limiting and bulk notifications, making it easier to bring people from PCO groups into focused care conversations.

Our SMS acceptance demo is now available on the CareNote Plus preview page, so you can see exactly how text messaging integration works before upgrading. We've also added channel-based send reminder options, letting you choose whether to reach people via email, SMS, or in-person follow-up based on what works best for each situation.

For churches using prayer lists, you now have a PII redaction toggle for reports—protecting sensitive information while still enabling meaningful prayer ministry.

Deeper Integration Support

We know every church's technology stack is unique, so we've expanded our integration hub with Fellowship One ChMS support and added the Subsplash integration for seamless people import and real-time webhooks. These connections help ensure your care ministry data stays current across all your platforms.

For Planning Center users, we've added PCO anniversary imports as milestones and improved profile photo caching for faster loading. We've also enhanced group filtering throughout CareNote, making it easier to focus your care efforts on specific ministries or demographics.

Strengthened Team Management

Pastoral care is team work, and we've made significant improvements to how you manage and empower your volunteers and staff. The new team membership actions make it simple to add people to care teams, adjust permissions, and manage access levels.

We've also enhanced the Risk Radar on the Care Action Center dashboard with send reminder actions specifically for assigned care providers—helping ensure no one falls through the cracks when multiple team members are involved in someone's care journey.

Looking Ahead

Every feature we build starts with a story from the field—a pastor frustrated by manual processes, a care team coordinator juggling too many spreadsheets, or a volunteer who wants to serve but feels overwhelmed by technology. Your feedback shapes everything we do.

As we move into spring, we're working on even more ways to help your ministry thrive. We're particularly excited about upcoming enhancements to our mobile experience and deeper integration options that will make CareNote feel even more natural to your team's workflow.

Thank you for trusting us with your ministry technology needs. When you have ideas for how CareNote can better serve your congregation, we genuinely want to hear them. Your insights help us build tools that truly support the assignment of caring for the people entrusted to you and your ministry or organization.
